An event to support our trans communities at Revenge in Brighton raised a massive £2,427.77 for Trans Pride Brighton on Sunday, 4 May.

Produced and hosted by Brighton drag artists Tayris Mongardi and Ex-Girlfriend, Show Up, Show Out! consisted of three incredible drag shows, and music from Revenge’s resident DJ Toby Lawrence and special guest DJs from Brighton lesbian night Crushed.

The night featured Revenge’s biggest ever line-up of local talent, including performances from The Siren, Brucie Boo, Ariana Cherry, Alik, Theyvid, Glew, Nyongbella, Alex Fincher, Latos XX, Inga Rock, Tylern0l, Xena Rae, Amethyst Love, Foxy Ferox, Aurora Starr and Dave the Bear & the Burly Boys.

Held in response to the recent anti-trans Supreme Court ruling, host Tayris Mongardi described Show Up, Show Out as “a labour of love and necessity to our trans+ community.” She said: “As supporters and allies to our trans siblings, Ex-Girlfriend and I were dedicated to facilitating a fundraising event which meant trans+ folks could participate, be heard and be uplifted without having the burden of organising an event for their own needs.”

Steve Jones, Revenge’s Managing Director, added: “We’re thrilled to announce we’ve raised such a large amount for Trans Pride Brighton. They organise a vital event for the trans community, and now more than ever their work should be uplifted.”

The funds raised will be donated to Trans Pride Brighton, which will take place this year on 19 July.
