COLUMN: One Gay Man and His Love of Dogs, by Matt Rood of Rooddog

November 29, 2022

Hello Scene readers!

My name is Matt Rood, Brighton resident and Mr Gay UK/Europe 2017. My day job is dog walking, and you may have seen our Rooddog vans around Brighton & Hove. If so, give us a wave – we don’t bite! And you may see some of us out on a Friday night in the village…

I’ve been asked to write a regular column as a gay man running a small business in Brighton and focussing on the work we do with dogs. I love Brighton and its community feel, which is why at Rooddog we work hard on giving back. Our Christmas appeal this year is for Dogs Trust Brighton and we are collecting food, blankets, toys etc for the dogs that Dogs Trust give love to while looking for a forever home. If you would like us to collect a donation please do email us on info@rooddog.com. They also have an Amazon Wishlist too.

We also wanted to use this column to appeal to Scene readers who are thinking about adopting a dog. Each month we will feature a Dog of the Month, with one of our walkers. If you are interested in adopting (the dog not the walker) then please let us or Scene magazine know and we will put you in touch with Dogs Trust.

For this month we have the beautiful Lenny… Check him out HERE
