Besi Besemar July 6, 2019

Sam Stephens was given a great send off from Charles Street Tap on Thursday, July 4 where since starting to work there ten years ago, he has risen through the ranks to become one of the most popular managers on the commercial LGBT+ scene.

SAM leaves Brighton to take over his own venue, The Tivoli in Cheltenham, and was given a great send off by Sally Vate, Mrs Moore and Miss Penny with DJ Claire Fuller providing sounds and lights for the evening.

Sam arrived in Brighton fourteen years ago to study geography and geology. After graduating he started working in Charles Street and now feels the time is right to spread his wings and take on his own venue.

Sam is one of the current holders of the Favourite Bar Persons award which he won at the Golden Handbag Awards at the Hilton Brighton Metropole on June 23 along with one of his Charles Street Tap colleagues Ashley Beachey.

Sam said: “I want to thank Chris Marshall, Ed Stocker and Jon-Paul Mager-Playford who have been here the whole time helping me get where I am today and teaching me everything I know.”
