Cllr Elaine Hills, chair of Brighton & Hove City Councilās (BHCC) Corporate Parenting Board, is calling for more people in the city to become foster carers.
Cllr Hills said:Ā āThe impact our foster carers can have on transforming the lives of our children and young people cannot be overstated.
āOur fostering team offers first class training and 24-7 support. And unlike some independent fostering agencies we are of course a not-for-profit service.
āWe welcome interest in fostering from all sections of our diverse community, regardless of your marital status, race, disability, sexuality or gender.
āWe need people from all backgrounds who have a spare room and child care experience and want to help make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
“Our team is successfully working to assess and approve new foster carers during the pandemic within government guidelines.”
