Brighton & Hove Buses’ launches design competition for young climate activists

Brighton & Hove Buses has announced an exciting new environmental design competition for the city’s primary school children.

The competition asks children to think about how their actions can have a positive impact on their local environmentThey’re asked to write a sentence about this and then draw their action into an ampersand (&) design on the page.

Up for grabs is a family day out on board one of the company’s Sprit of Sussex coaches, free coach travel for a school trip and eco-friendly goody bags.

There will be two overall winners:  but everybody shortlisted will have their work displayed on the television screens inside Brighton & Hove Buses’ new extended range electric buses.

The bus company has contacted all of the city’s primary schools about entering the competition. Some schools will let children work on their competition entries in class but they can also do them at home.

Brighton & Hove Buses’ Managing Director Martin Harris said: We’re asking children to get their brilliant ideas down on paper and transmit their passion for the environment. I know there are many children out there who are already having a real, positive impact on their environmentwe want to showcase what they’re doing and applaud it.
