Arts charity to march at London Pride for first time

Arts Charity Wise Thoughts will being Standing with Orlando when they march at London Pride on Saturday, June 25.

Wise Thoughts and ‘GFEST – Gaywise FESTtival’ organisers will be marching in the museums, archives and galleries section for the first time.

Wise Thoughts presents LGBTQI issues via arts and works in partnerships with museums, galleries, arts and cultural venues.

Wise Thoughts artistic director Niranjan Kamatkar, said: “Although we have had stalls at previous Prides, this year a number of younger people from our free LGBT drop-in services are very keen to take part in the parade. I hope we can reflect in the diversity of the first ever museum, archives and galleries section in London LGBT Pride.”

He added: “We are determined and proud to march in the Pride parade for the first time since we started 17 years ago. As an organisation, we want to stand in solidarity with the victims of the Orlando attack and deliver a loud and clear message: hate never wins!”

GFEST 2016 theme is OUT [in the Margins]. GFEST 2016 will run in venues across London from Monday, November 7 to Saturday, November 19.
