Andrew Logan sculpts Rainbow Heart for MindOut

Graham Robson June 27, 2020

Andrew Logan, British sculptor and creator of the Alternative Miss World, has created a unique, wearable rainbow art piece, in his signature style in mirror, to raise vital funds for LGBTQ+ mental health charity MindOut. Donate and enter the draw to win here:

The first piece Logan has made during lockdown, the sculpture is a heart made with coloured mirror glass and features all seven colours of the rainbow, inlaid into resin and hung from a string of pearl beads. This special piece can be worn as a necklace or displayed as an object d’art as a wall hanging, window decoration or mobile. As with all of Logan’s creations, this is a one-off handcrafted piece of art. Logan wanted to create a work to help raise funds for a charity, inspired by the symbolism of rainbows in support of key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Helen Jones, CEO of MindOut, said: ‘The heart is beautiful and a very generous donation from Andrew. All the money raised through the auction will go directly to support LGBTQ+ people who experience mental health issues.

‘We are really concerned about the rise in mental health issues during the current pandemic and how much of an impact this is having on LGBTQ people. Many of us are dealing with losing our previous support, living in inadequate and hostile situations and losing our livelihoods. Many people are experiencing a mental health crisis for the first time.’

You’ll be entered into the draw to win the Rainbow Heart by making a donation of £5 by 8pm on Sunday, July 5. To donate, check out the Just Giving page.
