PREVIEW: Would Like To Meet @Rialto Theatre

August 6, 2019

Would Like To Meet (WLTM) the play about dating in the digital world is back.

THIS true life dating disaster comedy premiered at the Rialto Theatre in February, 2016 and then appeared at Latest Music Bar as part of Brighton Fringe Festival 2016.

Every performance was a sell out and WLTM Productions hopes to continue this run with its latest production at the Rialto this September. WLTM was also commissioned to appear in the beautiful art deco Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen, in 2017.

Written by Christine Kempell and Hilary Handel, ‘WLTM’ is a tongue-in cheek take on the trials and tribulations of dating in the digital world, with a collection of hilarious true life dating disasters, some heart-warming tales and plenty of shocking statistics.

Are you looking for meaningful relationships on Tinder or Grindr? Tired of hearing the same old chat up lines? Finding it difficult to meet your soul mate on a three-minute speed date? In this modern minefield of dating apps, can true love still survive? Swipe right and see.

Writer Christine Kempell said: “The digital dating world has come a long way in a few short years. When we initially performed WLTM there were only a handful of dating apps on the market. Now there are around one thousand five hundred.

The old stigma attached to digital dating has disappeared and one in four people now meet their perfect partner online. By 2030 this will increase to one in two!

We have plenty more statistics like these which will surprise you on the night, plus a few dating slang terms you need to know to keep you in the loop!”

Hilary Handel added: “Every time we perform the play there are fresh dating stories and statistics which means there is always something new to see and to laugh at. So even if you saw WLTM before you can come back and see it again.”

This production is in association with local bespoke dating agency Your Matchmaker; the award-winning dating agency and personal introductions for single professionals in the South East.
