PREVIEW: Megan Ford: FEMINASTY: Marlborough Theatre

February 11, 2016

Performing horrible characters, whiny girl stand-up, dumb sketches, and rap songs, Megan Ford takes down the patriarchy with nothing but her bare hands and some fabulous wigs.

WEB.600The world is a terrible place and it’s all the fault of the corporations who run the media.

Megan Ford finds this hilarious, so she wrote a comedy show about it. With little reverence or subtlety, she tackles difficult subjects from gender representation to rape culture using silly voices and swear words.

Expect boring feminist lectures snuck in between songs, sketches, and the shallow, offensive characters: a tabloid journalist, a video game heroine, a Tea Party politician, a scandalous flapper, and a 14-year-old YouTube blogger.

Overthrowing the dominant paradigm just got even more fun.

After a smash-hit run at Underbelly for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Megan Ford: FEMINASTY will tour the UK throughout 2016. The show will land in Brighton at the Marlborough Theatre on 5th March at 7.30pm.

Megan Ford: FEMINASTY is written and performed by Megan Ford, Directed by Aaron Paterson, with an original music track by Jonny & The Baptists’ Paddy Gervers.
