The Vivienne’s “extraordinary life” to be celebrated in new documentary

Graham Robson March 5, 2025

A documentary celebrating the life and career of beloved RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star The Vivienne, who tragically died in January 2025 aged just 32, has been announced.

Produced by World of Wonder, Dear Viv will trace the late star’s journey from their childhood in North Wales to success and international stardom on Drag Race.

The documentary is set to feature interviews from fellow Drag Race stars Baga Chipz, Michael Marouli and Danny Beard.

Announcing the new project, World of Wonder co-founders and executive producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey said: “We want to celebrate The Vivienne’s extraordinary life and work so everyone can experience her incredible talent, sass and enormous heart.

“Although her stay here on Earth was far too brief it is with tremendous admiration and affection that we share her legacy in Dear Viv.”

Dear Viv will premiere exclusively on streaming service WOW Presents Plus later this year. However, an official release date for the documentary has yet to be confirmed.

The Vivienne first shot to stardom in 2019, winning the first ever series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

As a fan-favourite, they were later welcomed back to the Drag Race franchise for the seventh season of All Stars in 2022. A year later, The Vivienne made history as the first drag performer to compete on Dancing on Ice. The star then took to the stage in 2024, playing the Wicked Witch of the West in the UK theatre tour of The Wizard of Oz.
