Juno Dawson has said the upcoming Doctor Who episode she wrote is the “most expensive” ever made.
Speaking at Attitude 101, which celebrate the work of trailblazers across the global LGBTQ+ community, the trans icon said: “It’s the most ridiculous episode they’ve ever done… And the most expensive.”
Dawson is a #1 Sunday Times best-selling novelist, screenwriter and journalist, whose books include the global bestsellers, This Book is Gay and Her Majesty’s Royal Coven. Dawson created the first official Doctor Who scripted podcast, Doctor Who: Redacted.
“I started watching Doctor Who with my grandma when I was ten-years-old in the 1990s. From writing fanfiction for an audience of one, to scripting the best TV show of all time is truly a dream come true. I can’t wait for fans and newcomers to see the new season.”
Other attendees at Attitude 101 included LGBTQ and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and trans reality TV star Ella Morgan.
The 15th series of Doctor Who, starring Ncuti Gatwa, Millie Gibson and Varda Sethu, will broadcast in April and May 2025 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
