PROUD A.F exhibition with Hannah Shillito, Ex-Girlfriend and Sticky Pinz to raise funds for Survivors’ Network

Graham Robson January 20, 2022

Local artist Hannah Shillito has collaborated with local drag queen Ex-Girlfriend and West End costume designer Sticky Pinz for a Kemptown gallery private view and solo show to raise awareness and funds for Survivors’ Network, which aims to reduce sexual violence and its impact on survivors’ lives through counselling, advocacy, peer support and group work as well as training for professionals.

Hannah Shillito

Hannah, the colourful artist behind Hannah Shillito Art, says collaborating with Ex-Girlfriend and Sticky Pinz has helped bring people together and spread more joy during a dark time, especially for the LGBTQ+ community here in Brighton.

“While we’ve been going through the endless onslaught of the pandemic it has been hard to feel creatively inspired… and more than that it has been hard to feel like part of a community.

“Collaborating with other artists and other media has really given us all a boost and we want to spread the message that collaborations are there for the taking – reaching out to fellow creatives via social media is the way to go!”

Hannah Shillito’s PROUD A.F exhibition will take place at Hello Gorgeous Gallery, Brighton BN2 1EF on Friday, February 4 from 6.30-8.30pm. Donations to Survivors’ Network will be encouraged, and prints and originals can be bought with a percentage going to the charity. The main PROUD AF piece will be exclusively revealed on the night.
