Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus announced today that Rory Finn Smith, (Chair of Trans Alliance and LGBT Liaison/Hate Crime Co-ordinator for Sussex Police) and Kathy Caton, (presenter of Radio Reverb’s Out In Brighton), will co-host We All Live Together: A Concert For World AIDS Day, on Monday, December 1 at St Mary’s Church, Kemptown.

Earlier this month, some Brighton & Hove LGBT music groups announced that they will again be joining forces to put on the annual fundraising concert.

The concert will take place at St Mary’s Church in Kemp Town on Monday, December 1 at 7.30 pm (allowing time for those attending the Candelight Vigil close by from 6pm-7pm at the AIDS Memorial statue on New Steine to pop along the road too) and will feature performances by the Brighton Belles Women’s Chorus, Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, Rainbow Chorus, Resound Male Voices and Qukulele.

Adam Betteridge, a trustee for Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus, said: “One of the many lessons we have all learned from HIV / AIDS is how important it is for us all to try to find ways of supporting and caring for each other despite our many differences. Looking back over this year, particular events such as Trans Pride have helped highlight many of the issues that continue to affect Trans people each and every day. We also lost one of our cherished members Ian Gurnhill who had lived with HIV since the 1980’s and was cared for at the Sussex Beacon in his final days. With Rory and Kathy’s support, we hope this years ‘We All Live Together’ concert will provide a safe space for all members of our LGBT community to come together both in celebration of our diversity and in remembrance of all those we’ve lost.”

Funds raised from the concert will be in aid of Lunch Positive, who will also be serving home made mince pies and mulled wine on the night.

Tickets cost just £5 with all proceeds going to Lunch Positive.
