“This song was made to make me run!” Delta Goodrem drops high-octane new single, ‘Hearts On The Run’

Multi award-winning singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem has returned with the high-octane new single, Hearts On The Run, which has an instantly energetic beat rooted in the vibrant sound of the ‘80s.

On Hearts On The Run – a behemoth, hook-driven anthem that does not give you a moment to breathe – Delta explains: “I wrote Hearts on the Run as a message that it’s possible to tap into an unyielding positivity. I wanted to create a high energy feeling with so much momentum, that you can’t help but run.

“That feeling when you’re in the middle of a marathon, when your legs ache, when your breath is running out, and you question how much further you can go… It’s precisely in that moment that the song insists you can go further, driven by a combination of love and an unbreakable spirit.

“The song urges you to discover what you’re truly made of by pushing your own boundaries. This song was made to make me run! Your heart is on the run!”

Last summer, Delta returned with the epic track Back To Your Heart, which was BBC Radio 2’s Song of the Week. The release explored her sound and firmly cemented her place as an icon amongst the ever-changing musical landscape.

Hearts On The Run was teased last summer as Delta spent the best part of 2023 on the road in Europe and the UK for the first time ever, playing sold-out shows to thousands, including an extraordinary night at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire as part of the Hearts On The Run tour. Ever the shapeshifter, Delta also made a triumphant return to the big screen portraying fiercely independent pilot Dana Randall in the #1 Netflix movie, Love Is In The Air.

2023 also saw Delta mark the 20th anniversary of her record-breaking debut album, Innocent Eyes, which is one of the highest-selling albums in Australian history. The album debuted on the UK official chart at #2 and featured hit singles Innocent Eyes, Lost Without You, Not Me, Not I and the anthem Born to Try.

Now settled back in the UK, Delta will perform for BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room month, alongside Gary Barlow. A long-standing queer icon and ally, Delta is also looking ahead to summer and has announced a main-stage performance at Mighty Hoopla in June.
