The Linden Archives to open its queer archive on Northern England in the ‘90s at special exhibition and panel discussion

Graham Robson February 4, 2025

The Linden Archives will open its queer archive on Northern England in the ‘90s at special exhibition and panel discussion for LGBT+ History Month 2025 on February 13 at York St John University.

The event, which will focus on the 1990s club and pub scene across northern England, will include a curated exhibition and ‘thought-provoking’ panel discussions.

Jake Furby, York LGBT Forum trustee, said: “LGBT+ History Month serves as a reminder of the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community.

“Through this event, we hope to honour that legacy, foster dialogue, and invite everyone – allies and community members alike – to actively engage with this vital history.”

Head along for an evening with Stuart Linden Rhodes and the Linden Archives, looking at photographs from the UK queer scene of the 1990s taken for Gay Times and All Points North magazines, and hearing the stories behind them.
