BRIGHTON FRINGE: After The Echo, a queer-made physical theatre show, at the Old Market

Graham Robson April 22, 2022

After The Echo, an award-winning, queer-made physical theatre show by Dutch mime duo DeRonde/Deroo, will be taking part in this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival at the Old Market from May 27-29.

Mime duo DeRonde/Deroo explore the struggle and the beauty of melancholy in this award-winning, visually stunning physical performance. Set in a dark and windy winter dreamscape, After The Echo takes you on a surrealist journey punctuated by explosions of colour and warmth: a blood-and-thunder pop ballad in a red sequin dress, a roadside encounter with a golden stag, two lost souls in a storm longing for a Brazilian beach.

DeRonde/Deroo consists of Dutch mimers Nick Deroo and Tom de Ronde. They studied at the Academy of Theatre & Dance in Amsterdam.

After The Echo by DeRonde/Deroo plays at the Old Market, 11A Upper Market St, BN3 1AS from May 27-29.
