The Chattri Memorial stands on the Downs near Patcham at the place where the Hindu and Sikh soldiers who died in Brighton war hospitals during 1914-1915 were cremated.

Simon said: “Attending memorial events to represent residents of Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven is one of the most humbling experiences. It is important to take the time to honour and remember those who sacrificed so much for us.”
