Local charities benefit from the voices of ‘Actually’

Following successful performances and fundraising throughout 2012 by both Actually Gay Men’s Chorus and Actually Gay Women’s Chorus, £1141.64 has been presented to local charities.
This month Actually CIC presented  Sussex Air Ambulance with £323.16, Brighton & Hove LGBT Switchboard with £498.16 and Brighton Women’s Centre with £320.32.

The money was raised from a Moulin Rouge inspired production, The Show Must Go On and a very patriotic Pride event, Our Crowning Glory performed by Actually Gay Men’s Chorus whilst Actually Gay Women’s Chorus sang in their debut performance Showtime and both Choruses joined forces in December for Twas The Night Before Christmas.

Adventure/Misadventure at The Marlborough

Writer, musician and performer Nick Field’s Adventure/Misadventure will be playing at The Marlborough Theatre, Brighton as part of The Brighton Fringe in May.

The one-man show explores how freedom is found in a world where our sense of home is constantly shifting. Nick guides audiences through a trip of a lifetime with tales of crap jobs, relationship disasters, and discoing monks. Accompanied by a live musical score of pop reworks using the harp, Adventure/Misadventure explores the epic themes of freedom versus home in a unique form.

Where: The Marlborough Theatre, , 4 Princes Street, Brighton.

When:  Thursday, May 9–Sunday, May 12 at 7.45pm.
