Can you help?

Animal welfare officers from Brighton & Hove City Council are appealing for help them to trace the owner of two dogs which attacked and caused dreadful injuries to a greyhound last Friday January 4 in Stanmer Woods.

The man with the two brown /tan coloured mastiff type dogs is described as late to early 40`s with short cropped hair, possibly wearing an earring and may drive a van. One of the dogs was older and the other possibly a juvenile. The attack happened at around midday.

Animal welfare officers are very keen to talk to this man and are asking anyone thinks they may know him to contact Maggi Hollands on 01273 293299.

Maggi said:

“This was a particularly nasty and vicious attack and we are keen to do everything we can to trace the owner of these dogs and prevent any further incidents.”

All calls and information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Local comedian Zoe Lyons will be running the Brighton Half Marathon on February 17 for MindOut the LGBT Mental Health Project.

“I am running the Brighton Half Marathon this February and it seems only fitting that I am trying to raise money for MindOut, a local Brighton charity working to help members of the LGBT community with mental health concerns. Especially as I have used running over the last year to improve my own mental well being. For some of us improving our state of mind can be achieved with something as simple as exercise but it is so important to remember that this is not the case for everyone and having the support there when they need it the most is essential.”
