Charl Van den Berg
Charl Van den Berg, a restaurateur from Cape Town, South Africa, has been crowned Mr Gay World 2010.

Mr Van den Berg won the four-day competition in Oslo which, according to the organisers, is aimed at "finding a leader who can take on the responsibility of being a spokesman for the community and who can also speak out on equality and human rights on the world stage."

The Chinese contestant took fourth place despite Beijing's attempts to stop him. The Chinese authorities had already banned the country's first gay pageant last month.
