Last week the head of MSF (Medecins Sans Frontiers) UK, Marc DuBois, spoke at the Brighton & Sussex Medical Student Society branch of MSF on the topic of 'Temoignage' – bearing witness and speaking out.
Marc DuBois joined MSF in 1999 and has worked in Khartoum, Sudan before working as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer in Angola. He spent six years working for MSF-Holland in the Humanitarian Affairs Department, first as an advisor and later as head of department and researcher. He is now the head of MSF-UK. Marc is an internationally recognised figure with huge experience in the humanitarian field.
Simon Burgess, Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Brighton Kemptown, said:
"Marc discussed the advantages,
sometime contradictions and challenges of bringing abuses and
intolerable situations to the public eye. It was a packed house of
medical students, good to see a new generation fully engaged in
discussing ethics and human rights. Well done to the medical school for
hosting such a stimulating debate."
