Records by Jamaican artists have been blacklisted in Germany because of their homophobic content and the glorification of violence.

Artists whose work has been blacklisted include Sizzla, Elephant Man, Bounty Killer, Capleton, TOK and Baby Cham.

Albums on the blacklist can't be sold to minors, neither can they be advertised. Breaches of these conditions can result in fines and imprisonment. The list has been compiled by the government agency the BPjM (German Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons).

The BPjM acted on the recordings after complaints made by a number of gay organisations worried by the albums' violenct homophobic content.
