Inca Trail
|
From September 3 - 12, 2010, a group of budding explorers will be jetting off to Peru to trek the Inca Trail, all in aid of Veniños - Venezuelan Children in Need.
The Inca Trail, one of the top trekking trails in the world, is a challenging hike through the Andes Mountains, encompassing some of the best views on the planet and is the only Inca Trail that leads the trekkers to Machu Picchu - one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The 10-day event, which involves 5 full days trekking, will cross High Mountain passes, go through lush green valleys and encompass many traditional Inca ruins. The challenge is being organised by Global Adventure Challenges Ltd and the trek is aiming to raise £100,000 for the shanty town and street children of Venezuela.
The Trek Peru team are calling on people from around the UK to join this once-in-a-lifetime event. Anyone who has ever wanted to challenge themself, see the world and experience something worthwhile, this is their chance and for the best possible reasons.
To take part in this challenge, participants can register for £249, and then pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,995 for Veniños. All travel, accommodation, refreshments, guides and medical support are included. Full fitness training to prepare for the challenge and fundraising support will be provided through professional event organisers, Global Adventure Challenges.
