Any gay person of a certain age would have appreciated the sentiments expressed in this performance and most likely experienced most of what was portrayed on stage.
Theatre North were making their Brighton debut before moving on to Gay Arts Festivals in London and Dublin in 2010.
Staged by Andrew McKinnon and performed over four nights,
'Naked Homo' is one man's true perception of Gay life from cradle to grave with the adventures and mis-adventures that confront us every day of our lives, covering topics such as: - Dark Room, Naturism, Husband, Gym, Cheating, Drag Queens, Sauna, Bondage, Pride, Bed, Beach and Dog.
A different show every night, cleverly inter woven to suit the mood of each topic. On the night that I visited the topics included Gym, Dark Room, Cheat, Bondage, Beach and Pride.
Performed by the confident and award-winning actor Martin Lewton who also created this very wordy insight into the Gay World.
Once you’re over the nudity and into this solo show you are captivated by the sheer genius of the performance. Not a missed a cue throughout, making the whole evening a provocative and thought provoking experience of the Gay World.
It is certainly worthy of a larger venue and a bigger audience.
