Award winning comedian and broadcaster Marcus Brigstocke will join forces with TV and radio comedy friends Russell Howard (Mock the Week), Alastair McGowan (The Big Impression), Mark Steele (NewsQuiz) and Mitch Benn (Now Show), Robin Ince (Nerdstock) and others for a one-off night of political mayhem at the Theatre Royal.

Brigstocke said:
“The Big Green Party promises to be a great night in the comedy calendar. It's not everyday you get such an array of talent coming together for a one off event like this. Between us I'm sure we'll end up covering some tricky political ground, ranging from the recession, to MP's expenses, to the curious effect gravity has on Gordon Brown compared to other humans. With the election speeding up on us, political tensions are riding high and it creates the perfect atmosphere for this type of event. Laughs and banter are guaranteed”

Proceeds from the gig will be going towards funding Caroline Lucas' historic bid to become the UK's first Green MP.

Recent polls have the Greens as clear favourites to win in Brighton, the polls showing the Conservatives some way behind in second. With political commentators saying Labour are all but out of the running in the constituency, the selection of stars turning out for the Green Benefit Gig can only be a major boost to the Green's campaign to take Brighton pavilion

There is also a rumoured a surprise guest for the show in the form of Dr Who star and UK treasure Catherine Tate.

The Big Green Party is at the Theatre Royal on February 27.

Tickets cost £20 and are available from www.ambassadortickets.com/brighton or by calling 0844 871 7627
