Marilyn Monroe show in aid of the Martlets

Marilyn- the Life and Loves of a Hollywood Legend”, a musical drama about Marilyn Monroe, is being staged on September 24 at St Peters Church, Preston Park.

The author of the show is Duncan Hopper, who has lived in the city for over 35 years and used to have Senior positions at AMEX before retiring and taking an active interest in the film and theatre world.
 
The production encompasses the drama of her sex life, including her relationship with Joan Crawford; how she used her sexuality to build her career and her influence on women’s liberation; her relationship with the most powerful man and family in the world – John Kennedy and the Kennedy clan – and her ultimate demise.
 
Charity previews in aid of the Martlets are being staged at St Peters, Preston Park on September 24 and 25 at 7.30pm. The production features 14 original songs also written by Duncan Hopper and all the performers are professional actors.
