The Brighton Fringe will be partnering with the i newspaper for the 2012 festival.
The i has a current circulation of 211,467 and Brighton Fringe, which has tripled its events in the last six years, with 2011 hosting no less than 625 events and attracting an 180,000 attendances.
The partnership was initiated by Damian Barr, a trustee of Brighton Fringe who has worked at the Independent in the past.
Mr Barr says:
"I am thrilled to help connect Brighton Fringe and i - two exciting brands that are growing audiences with their passion and talent. It is a true partnership between two inspiring organisations and I am looking forward to doing my bit to make it work."
Julian Caddy, Brighton Fringe MD says:
"i is a perfect partner for Brighton Fringe and we're delighted to be embarking on this new road together. I can't wait to get started!"
Brighton Fringe and i will be holding a number of free events that will bring together Brighton's diverse communities in the centre of Brighton.
i will also be offering exclusive reader offers, including discounted Friends of Brighton Fringe memberships and competitions.
David Lister, i Arts Editor said:
"Brighton Fringe has a really impressive mix of cutting edge arts with a largely young and enthusiastic audience. It is a perfect fit for i, and we are delighted to be supporting this year's Brighton Fringe."
David, and his team of reviewers, will be covering many Brighton Fringe events and shows, online, in print and on social networks.
