At a Council scrutiny committee last week, Wish Labour & Co-operative Councillor, Anne Pissaridou, called for more clarity in the council’s approach to what she described as a “misleading” citywide parking review.

Cllr Pissaridou also pushed for a full and proper consultation with residents and ward councillors.

Her requests were backed by councillors, by four votes to two, with two abstentions.

Green Cabinet Member for Transport, Councillor Ian Davey, decided to put West Hove's parking problems to the back of the queue at a council meeting last week, forcing residents to potentially wait until 2015 for any local parking changes.

Councillor Pissaridou wrote to the Council’s Chief Executive, John Barradell, urging him for the decision to be reviewed by a council scrutiny committee.

Labour & Co-operative Wish Ward Councillor, Anne Pissaridou, said:
“There was not enough clarity or consultation in last week’s decision by the Greens to press ahead with their misleading citywide parking review.

"I am glad that residents will now get a further chance to be listened to on the acute parking problems in our area and I am pleased that I have been able to win them this second chance".
