Local charity, The Clock Tower Sanctuary has received a donation from Pret A Manger, the sandwich retail chain.  The Pret Foundation Trust donated £26,111 to help support the homeless in time for the Christmas period when the Clock Tower Sanctuary’s services are needed more than ever.

Since it’s foundation in 1998, The Clock Tower Sanctuary has helped thousands of vulnerable young people, offering a warm, welcoming safe space, food and drink, access to computers and a telephone, advice on housing, health, education, employment and social services – as well as practical and emotional support.

Sean Gibson, Chairman of The Clock Tower Sanctuary, said:
“This donation from Pret is absolutely essential.  It provides the funds to pay for staff who are pivotal to the running of the Sanctuary, recruiting and training new volunteers and ensuring the delivery of our service to young homeless people six days a week.

“Without Pret all of this would be under threat.  We are very thankful for Pret’s support in helping us maintain this level of service for another year.  It is great to work with a company that is as passionate about helping the homeless as us.”

Nicki Fisher, Head of Sustainability at Pret, said:
“Pret have been committed to helping the homeless in their battle against poverty since it began in 1986.  Thanks to our staff and customers we have been able help hundreds of homeless charities around the UK and raised an amazing £850,000 last year.

“We are delighted to have assisted the Clock Tower Sanctuary in their efforts to help the homeless.  We wish them continued success for the future and hope they can maintain the amazing, much-needed services they provide in Brighton.”
