Sussex Police are warning people to be cautious about letting strangers into their home after an elderly male was robbed and kept prisoner in his Brighton home yesterday, December 5, 2011.

The victim had met his attacker in a gay venue in Kemp town and invited him to stay at his property. Once inside the victim was beaten up and had his money stolen and then locked in a room whilst the attacker made his escape.

PS Alex Evans from Sussex Police said:
"I believe that this male is preying on vulnerable people who socialise within  gay venues, We are making a number of enquiries in order to trace this man. I would warn people not to invite strangers into their home and if they do then to make sure they make a friend aware of the situation."

If you have any information which could help the police in their enquiries contact Sgt. Alex Evans on 07795 801982
