More than fifty activities from groups and communities around the city are being showcased in Brighton & Hove’s biggest People’s day festival on Saturday June 18.
Based right in the heart of the city, in New Road, Pavilion Gardens, Corn Exchange, Dome Foyer, Jubilee Street, Jubilee Square and library, visitors can try their hand at a range of different activities for free.
From Archaeology boot camps to drop in Zumba dancing in Jubilee Square, there are ten different zones offering a wide range of activities and performances. On a main stage in New Road and another in the Dome Foyer, there will be dancing and singing by different community groups in the city.
The ten zones include: the Discovery zone, Brighton & Hove LINK Health and Wellbeing zone, History zone, BohoGreen Natural world, Playzone, Quiet zone and TAKEPART sport zone. There are backstage tours at the Theatre Royal and a food court with flavours from some of our best global restaurants.
Cllr Bill Randall, leader of Brighton & Hove City Council said:
“Our People’s day festival is bringing together many different groups from around the city. It’s also a great a chance for residents to find out more about the city’s many communities and to try something new. And above all, it’s just another prime example of what makes Brighton & Hove a special place to live.”
People’s day starts at 10am around New Road in Brighton.
