Medals for BLAGSS at Eurogames in Rotterdam

BLAGSS, Brighton's LGBT sports group was represented in two of the gay sports competitions at the Eurogames, held in Rotterdam in July 2011.

Four competitors from Brighton took part in the petanque competition. The competition was held north of Rotterdam at the club JBC Maasstad with teams from Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Great Britain taking part.

BLAGSS members Viv Woodcock and Graham Johnston competed in their first ever petanque competition and finished a respectable 15th. BLAGSS petanque coordinator Tony Mann along with Terry Gibbons won the bronze medal in the doubles competition.

Nigel Jarvis & Ken Hawthorne
Nigel Jarvis and Ken Hawthorne competed in the tennis, where Nigel was a double medallist, winning gold in men's C singles and bronze in the men's C doubles with a scratch partner from Belgium. Ken grabbed a bronze in the men's 40+ C draw.
