Local writer, alternative historian and performer, Rose Collis, needs sponsorship for her new one-woman show, 'Trouser-Wearing Characters', to be unveiled at the 2012 Brighton Fringe Festival.

Several 'preview' performances will be held in February.

The show, devised and performed by Rose who also sings with the Rainbow Chorus, comprises a mixture of history, music, comedy and scandalous stories, performed, sung and played on ukulele banjo.

Rose says:
"Drawing on my 25 years of research and writing, the show will feature a 'cast' of literal and metaphorical 'trouser-wearing characters' and their 'signature' songs, from 'Colonel' Victor Barker to Dougie Byng, to the 'effing lady' herself, Coral Browne."

Rose is trying to raise initial funds for essential equipment for the show, through the WeDidThis 'crowdfunding' scheme, which is endorsed by the Brighton Fringe Festival.

A variety of 'experiential treats' are available, starting from £10 for a signed book, to £100 for a local history tour for up to 10 people. However, if the fund target is not reached, the project receives nothing.
