Simon Kirby, Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown, has welcomed the Government’s new Coastal Communities Fund, which will provide finances for a range of different organisations in coastal locations throughout the United Kingdom.
The Government has today launched a prospectus outlining the aims and objectives of the fund, as well as details of the eligibility criteria and application process.
Mr Kirby said:
“This fund underlines the Government’s commitment to supporting coastal towns and cities that were often neglected under the last Labour Government. The money will help to create jobs and have a lasting impact on coastal economies.
"The fund will be delivered by The Big Lottery Fund, who will shortly be announcing detailed guidance for would-be applicants, and I want to encourage as many organisations in Brighton Kemptown to apply, including charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community groups, local authorities and private sector companies.”
