Cllr Simon Kirby

Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, backs the Governments drive to increase exports. This includes doubling UK trade with evolving economies; getting 100,000 more SMEs exporting; and becoming Europe’s number one destination for inward investment.

Simon said:
“This Government is committed to solving the economic problems facing the nation, and increasing exports will play an important role in this.  I am pleased to back such a promising campaign as this because trade and investment with developing markets offers one of the main prospects for UK trade and investment growth opportunities”.

Started by the Prime Minister last November, the SME exporting campaign is now building on the launch event with seminars for SMEs in every region of the country to help demonstrate how to enhance further exports in Europe.

Simon concluded:
“Trade and investment also offers the only sustainable path for global growth and the reduction of poverty. The Government is dedicated to back emerging and low income countries through trade negotiations and trade has become an important theme of the UK’s bilateral aid programmes”.
