Harry Haynes better known to people as 'Harry the Electrician' passed away on Monday, August 15 after falling from a step ladder at home while watering his plants. Harry was 68 years old.

Originally from Manchester, Harry joined the RAF, an organisation he was very proud of.

Harry once told me in his youth in Manchester he was a Mod and drove a Lambretta with 24 mirrors. The girls always chased him he said, without much success.

He came to Brighton about 15 years ago after spending many years in London where he was politically active as a member of the Conservative Party.

In Brighton he stood as a candidate for the Conservatives in the local elections.

By trade Harry was an 'old school electrician', who believed in either doing a job correctly or not at all.

He was a gentleman and will be missed by his many friends.

His funeral is at 11.15am on Tuesday, August 30 at Woodvale Crematorium after which he will be buried in Woodingdean Cemetery.
