Brighton & Hove Council have opened a temporary shelter for rough sleepers during the recent freezing weather.
The shelter is being run by staff from both Brighton Housing Trust and CRI.
Rough sleepers are being encouraged to call the freephone hotline on 0808 1680414.
The hotline is for rough sleepers looking for help and also for residents to report rough sleeping when they become aware of it, so that the council can help as many people as possible.
Alternatively, people can email:
brighton.rsssrt@cri.org.uk
Mike Weatherley, MP for Hove & Portslade welcomed the move.
He said:
“With temperatures regularly dropping below freezing at night it is more vital than ever that everyone has a warm place to stay. I would like to praise the work of local charities and Brighton & Hove City Council who work in partnership to help those most in need.”
