The British Social Attitudes survey has shown that people in Britain are more tolerant when it comes to the subject of gay relationships. The survey takes place annually and asks a random selection of 4,000 people their opinions on various topics such as sex, work and the government.
In 1989 69% thought that sexual relationships between two adults of the same sex was mostly or always wrong; in 2007 this had fallen to 7%.
In 1989 14% thought that sexual relationships between two adults of the same sex was not wrong at all; in 2007 this had risen to 39%.
