Following Suffolk’s first LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) Pride in 2009, which attracted an estimated 3000 people, Suffolk Pride 2010 will take place on Sunday June 20 in Christchurch Park Ipswich.
A spokesman for the event said:
"Suffolk Pride 2010 will celebrate and promote equality and diversity through engagement, fun and entertainment. This event has something for everyone with our aim to unite the people and communities of Suffolk in a celebrative atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Suffolk Pride will be fostering a sense of community within the LGBT population and a chance for people of all backgrounds, age, disability, gender, race, religion, belief or non-belief to gather together, in a celebration, bringing people and their communities closer together.
"There will be live stage performances including the winner of the ‘Star for a night’ competition. Radio Suffolk is Suffolk Pride’s media partner and radio presenter Rob Dunger will be on stage on the day."
