A gay prisoner at HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire has claimed that his human rights have been breached because prison guards confiscated his collection of gay porn.

John O'Reilly subsequently wrote a letter of complaint to Inside Time, the national magazine for prisoners, saying that the prison allows straight porn and that he was being discriminated against.

A spokesman for the prison said that porn was allowed, but at the discretion of the managers.
