A petition calling for the Prime Minister to implement stronger deterrents for hate crimes is currently available to sign at Number10.gov.uk, the official site of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The petition calls for perpetrators to receive substantial custodial sentences.

Lisa Fraser, the petition's creator, stated:
"We need to send out a formidable message that hate crimes can not, and will not be tolerated in a civilised society - ours.

"Begin with appropriate sentencing for the perpretrators as a deterrent. It's imperative we forge towards quelling these abhorrent crimes, the solution needs to be everyone's problem and our Government needs to lead the way. People learn by example."
