Orchid Male Cancer Awareness Week is an annual campaign held by the male cancer charity Orchid to raise awareness of male specific cancers – prostate, testicular and penile.
The Week will include:
· The launch of specialist leaflets on the diagnosis, treatment and management of prostate cancer
· The launch of specialist Factsheets on testicular cancer
· An update on the latest research developments into male cancers
· The launch of a national postcard campaign to raise awareness of male cancers
· Fundraising events to support Orchid’s research and support services
· Awareness events and information sessions
Every year over 37,400 men will be diagnosed with a male specific cancer: 2,000 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer, 400 with penile cancer and 35,000 with prostate cancer.
Orchid is the UK’s only registered charity focused exclusively on male-specific cancers. Formed in 1996 by a testicular cancer patient, Orchid exists to save men’s lives from testicular, prostate, and penile cancers through pioneering research, the provision of specialist information and support, campaigns and raising awareness.
