Norwich's first Popes

Norwich has elected its first Alternative Popes.

Organiser Vince Laws explains:
"Unhappy with the current Pope in Rome, I organised an alternative Pope event earlier this week.

"Sixteen cardinals agreed to elect a Norwich Pope, regardless of religion, sexuality, gender, colour, etc. Pope Dandelion and Pope Philippa were unanimously elected after agreeing to job share.

"The mitre was hand knitted by a Norwegian mother, and the ring hand made by a humanist celebrant.

"The Norwich Popes are already discussing future plans - watch this space."
