The Liberal Democrats have launched a series of new postcards promoting the party's record and future on LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) equality.
The cards will be handed out as flyers, or distributed in local LGBT venues. They have a message on the back and can be posted to encourage people to spread the word. They cards will launched at the Federal Spring Conference in Birmingham this weekend.
The front of the card mentions the party's commitment to gay rights in 1975, its opposition to Section 28 in 1988, and its support for all trans people in the Equality Bill 2010. A photo of Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg at London Pride accompanies two quotes from him about support for same-sex marriage and opposition to homophobic bullying in schools.
A spokesman for the Lib Dems said:
"
The card talks about our longest and proudest record of LGBT equality, our determination to fight into the future, and our belief in fairness for all - particularly fairer taxes, fairer votes, a fairer start for children and a fair and green economy."
