Kirk McCambley, the man at the centre of the Iris Robinson scandal, is tipped to become a gay icon.

Bookies cut the odds on Kirk appearing in a gay magazine from 33/1 to 11/8 after it emerged that the handsome chef was offered a front cover photo shoot by the UK’s best-selling gay magazine, Attitude, having become an unlikely icon for the gay community.

According to the bookies it seems most likely, at odds of 11/10, for the 21-year-old to cash in on his unprecedented public profile by selling his exclusive version of events to a leading UK newspaper or magazine.  

Odds of 6/1 are on offer for Kirk to appear as a housemate in the current Celebrity Big Brother series and 8/1 to release his own cook book. Less likely, but also on the bookies list include Kirk to release a cover version of Simon and Garfunkel’s 1968 hit  single “Mrs Robinson” at 50/1 and to star in a remake of The Graduate at 500/1.

Bookmakers Paddy Power are also betting on the how many members the Kirk McCambley Appreciation Society will have on Facebook on 31 January 2010. The favourite at odds of 1/2 of more than 10,000 members
