Age UK, formally known as Age concern and Help the Aged, have come to the aid of the Haiti Earthquake amputees, and have joined forces with Heather Mills and Physicians for Peace.

Age concern shops, and Help the Aged shops across the country will be taking in prosthetics, wheelchairs and walking aids that the general public may have at home no longer being used. Begin an amputee herself, Heather Mills is keen to help improve the quality of treatment and care for the recent victims.  She is providing them with information, support and limbs.

Heather has also opened her vegan restaurant, VBites, at Hove lagoon as a collection point for these items.

The prosthetic limbs will then be shipped to Physicians for Peace who will recondition and repair aid items before they all go out to Haiti.

Heather, who has appeared on GMTV and CNN with Larry King to promote the appeal, said:
“If there is any thing you can do to help support the people of Haiti please get in touch, they need your support”
