Sir Elton John

Sir Elton John has said that he believes Jesus was a "super-intelligent gay man" in an interview with America's Parade magazine.

Sir Elton added:
"On the cross, he forgave the people who crucified him. Jesus wanted us to be loving and forgiving."

A spokesman for the Church of England agreed with the singer's statement on Jesus' forgiveness, but said that "insights into aspects of the historic person of Jesus are perhaps best left to the academics".
