GMFA, the gay men’s health charity, is running its Sex Course in 13 cities across  England this November to teach gay men everything they wanted to know about gay sex and their bodies. This one-day course will help men explore what they want from their sex life, and will help them make it safer and more enjoyable.

Matthew Hodson, Head of Programmes at GMFA, said:
Knowing how our bodies work, and what to watch out for, can help us improve the sex we have and look after ourselves. We know from the questions that we get via our website that there are lots of myths and misinformation about gay sex circulating. These can lead to some men worrying about the sex they have and not being sure of what is safe. This course gives men information and confidence, which can help them to maintain safer sex.

"The course will help you explore the many different aspects of sex and your body in a fun way. This includes the ins and outs of how the cock, balls and arse work, a practical guide to sex toys to help men explore what they do and don’t like in sex, and advice on oral sex techniques and oral health. Throughout the day, men will learn how to look after the health of their cock and arse to help prevent the transmission of HIV and other STIs."

GMFA will run the courses with trainers from local gay charities and healthcare services including: Armistead Project, Eddystone Trust, Health Gay Living, Healthy Gay Nottingham, The Lesbian and Gay Foundation, MESMAC North East, The Sheffield Centre for HIV & Sexual Health, Southampton Gay Community Health Service, Terrence Higgins Trust, Trade, and Yorkshire MESMAC.

The Sex Course takes place on a Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The dates for 2010 are:
November 6:  Birmingham,  London,  Plymouth.
November 13: Brighton,  Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool,  Sheffield.
