The Cornwall Pride committee has announced that next year's festival will be held on Saturday August 28 2010 in Truro.
This year's event attracted almost 1000 people from the county's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities who took part in a parade through Truro City Centre, an afternoon garden party and finished with an evening of entertainment on lemon quay.
Although a day of fun, its purpose is to celebrate and embrace the diverse communities in Cornwall.
At the AGM on Thursday, Christian Diamant accepted the position of Chairman 2010 and offered twenty two seats on the committee which were all filled.
Speaking after the AGM, Christian said:
"I feel that we have the right committee in place to make 2010 even bigger and better than this year's event. I would encourage anyone who wishes to be a part of it to get in touch with the committee."
Due to demand, tickets for next years evening event will go on sale now and are available from Hall for Cornwall or Bar Qdos. Ticket prices will be held at £10 until March 31 but can be purchased right up to the day.
The organising committee will meet on the second Thursday of every month. To get involved e-mail the committee at:
