Dancing queen Camilla Dallerup and golf player Darren Clarke are encouraging clubs and groups across the UK to take on a new challenge this year to help beat breast cancer.
The two celebrities are supporting Breast Cancer Campaign’s £100 Challenge throughout 2010 and are urging as many people as possible take on the Challenge in order to raise vital funds for breast cancer research.
The Challenge is open to everyone, whether part of a sports club, music group or even a ladies’ networking association. Simply hold a fundraising event with the aim of raising £100 or more. This can take the form of coffee mornings with club members and sponsored events to quiz nights and black tie balls.
Camilla Dallerup, who is supporting the Challenge, said:
“Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with 125 people diagnosed with the disease every single day. So that’s why I’m encouraging you to help Breast Cancer Campaign beat this disease by signing up to its £100 Challenge. Anyone can take part and it’s a great way to have fun, so sign your club up today and help save lives.”
Over 500 clubs took part in the £100 Challenge last year, raising over £270,000 to help Campaign continue funding research.
